On my last trip to Georgetown, Penang in March 2023, my wife and I joined a pottery class at Yi Ping Fang Artistry Studio. We had a great time learning something totally new. It was our first time working with clay, and the facilitator was very helpful. We got to try working with a manual turntable and a motorised one like the one you see in the movie “Ghost”. I made a small drink tumblr and a pot shaped like Oddish. My wife made a bowl and a mug. Once done, the studio would help glaze and bake the pottery. Since this last process takes quite some time, the studio would ship the finished product once it is done. I’m very happy with how they all turned out. And we gain a new appreciation for the craft of pottery.
